About the role

Noroton Wrestling is a youth wrestling club in Stamford, CT with a lot going on — three practices a week, tournaments most weekends in season, clinics, and a growing girls program. Not nearly enough of it makes it online. We're looking for one or two interns to change that.

You'll own our social media and a monthly newsletter, using AI tools and video editing to turn practice footage, results, and coach notes into content people actually want to watch and read. You'll work directly with the club's admins and coaches, and you'll have real freedom to try things.

Experience is optional. Every skill on this page can be learned, and we'd rather teach someone hungry than manage someone experienced who's coasting. If this excites you and you're willing to put in the work, apply.

What you'll do

  • Run the club's social accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok / YouTube Shorts): plan the content calendar, post consistently, and engage with families, wrestlers, other clubs, and local schools.
  • Edit short-form video from practice and tournament footage — highlights, technique clips, coach and athlete interviews.
  • Write and send a monthly newsletter to club families: results, upcoming events, registration reminders, athlete spotlights.
  • Automate the boring parts. Build a repeatable pipeline (AI + scheduling tools) so a week of posts takes a couple of hours, not a couple of days.
  • Plan and track a growth and outreach strategy — followers, newsletter signups, and ultimately new wrestlers — and report what's working each month.

What we're looking for

  • Hungry to learn. This matters more than anything else on this page. If you figure things out by trying them, you'll do well here.
  • Curious about AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar) and video editing (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or similar). Experience with them is a plus, not a requirement — we'll help you get up to speed.
  • Can write clearly in English. Spanish is a big plus; many of our families speak it.
  • Pays attention to how social media actually works right now — hooks, formats, timing, and showing up in comments and DMs.
  • Self-directed. You can take "we have a tournament Saturday" and turn it into a plan without being handed each step.
  • Some wrestling knowledge, or the drive to learn it fast. Club alumni and current wrestlers' families are very welcome.
  • A high school student (16+), college student, or recent graduate.

Bonus points (all optional)

  • Experience with scheduling or automation tools (Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Later, Zapier, Make, n8n) or basic scripting.
  • Photography or design skills (Canva, Figma).
  • You've grown an account before — your own, a team's, or a club's — and can show the numbers.

  • Minimum commitment is one season (through March), with the option to continue.

Working with a youth club

Every athlete here is a minor. Photos and video of wrestlers are published only when a media release is on file and a club admin has approved the post. You'll follow our media policy, and an admin reviews content before it goes live — you will never be the last set of eyes.
